Denise has a Degree in Economics (York University) and a Masters Degree in Work, Organization & Leadership (Athabasca University). She formalized her education to become a licensed Mortgage Agent in 2016. She subsequently completed her Broker’s license and became a Managing Partner in Element Mortgage Group. Denise’s goal as your Mortgage Broker is to provide you with the expertise and insight you need to make informed decisions for all of your mortgage needs.
When Denise entered the mortgage field she initially considered working directly for a lender. After doing a little more research she decided she wanted to be able to independently advise clients and obtained her Mortgage Agent license. Denise has a passion for helping clients save the most money possible and pay less unnecessary interest to the lender. She had personal knowledge from her own mortgage transactions. She had bought properties, owned rental/investment properties, used purchase plus improvements and refinanced a home to buy another. Denise has a wealth of knowledge for her clients and offers a fresh perspective that could provide options of how to get to client’s goals faster.
Her previous career in Medical Radiation Technology has given her an ingrained sense of confidentiality, understanding, empathy and patience that she brings to the client-centered industry of mortgage solutions. This is also why she is happy to serve shift work clients or take phone calls at odd hours of the day… After 15 years of being on-call it is normal for her to answer the phone at 2am with “good morning, how can I help you?”
Denise is obsessed with being an expert in her field. She has obtained her Broker's license & her AMP designation. She is continuously upgrading her skills at workshops, education sessions & reading anything she can get her hands on related to mortgages.
An active member in her community, Denise is currently serving as a Vice President on the board of the Optimist Club of Brooklin. She is also a member of the Town of Whitby’s Accessibility Advisory Committee and the Brooklin Downtown Steering Committee.
In her free time you will find her at the gym, playing soccer or out with her husband and 3 daughters. She is also a foodie so if you need a restaurant recommendation she is your lady!
