Seven Things to Expect When You Work With Us
I recorded a short video on the seven standards of how we work at LaframboiseMortgage.ca. A few of them might sound a little unhinged. I stand by every single one.
If someone introduced you to us, or you're thinking about introducing someone, here's what to expect.
1. If it's not right for you, we don't do it
Wild concept, I know. We treat your money like it's ours, and we build a strategy instead of just chasing a rate. If your bank's offer is the best deal, I'll tell you to take it.
You can see it in our Google reviews. Plenty of them are from people whose mortgage I never actually did. No money made on those, but honestly, it's the best marketing we've ever done.
2. We play the long game
I'm not just thinking about this mortgage. I'm thinking about the next three, your renewal, and the rental property dream you haven't told anyone about yet. The advice I give you has to hold up for the next 10 years, because I'll still be right here.
I live here, I work here and my kids go to school here. I'd really prefer nobody throws eggs at me in the grocery store, while I'm walking my dog, or at school pickup.
3. Every mistake becomes a rule
We're not perfect. Shocking, I know. But every time something goes sideways or causes stress, it becomes a checklist item built into our process or a question we always ask.
So if we ask you something oddly specific, that's years of experience working in your favour, and it means the same mistake won't happen to you.
4. No jerks allowed
Life's too short. We're kind to each other and we're kind to you, because it's a lot more fun that way.
I spend most of my free time in jiu-jitsu gyms where people, mostly my own children, are actively trying to choke me. So when I get to work, I really just want everyone to be nice.
5. Get s*** done while having fun
Yes, that's really what we called it. HR approved it. HR is me.
For you, it means your file moves fast, you hear from us before you have questions, and you might even laugh along the way. If the biggest financial transaction of your life feels like a root canal, we might have failed you twice.
6. Good things happen because of you
When you work with us, good things happen that have nothing to do with your mortgage. For every introduction you give us, a tree gets planted. Your introduction literally grows something.
A portion of our profits also goes to local charities and kids' sports teams. You come for the mortgage and the service, and the neighbourhood gets a little better because you chose us.
7. Robots do the paperwork, you get a person
Yes, we use AI. We use it to handle the paperwork, and honestly, it's better at it than I am. It's thorough, it's fast and it never complains.
But you'll never talk to a chatbot here. If a robot could answer your question, you'd just ask the robot. The robots do the paperwork so we're free to take your calls.
These aren't a poster on the wall
When I bought my first home, I got bad advice. It just plain sucked. So I built a team to give you something better than what I had.
